I have an early 99 powerstroke. I was a stupid and bought a new 2000 turbo for $300 on e-bay. Well I went to install it today and much to my surprise it did not fit!!! I think that i would like to keep this turbo cause it looks a bit bigger and i got a pretty good deal on it. Any way, to my question. I wanted to know what parts i am going to need to get this one running. Like the intake manifold parts-are those to small for the new Y looking part? and what else?
You would need quite a few parts to make it fit on an early 99. I think you would need the intakes under the turbo, and then maybe the babies butt with new uppipes. There have been a few guys that have chaged over to the later style turbo, hopefully one of them will chime in and let you know exactly what they did.
