HELP!!! Oil Drip

just discovered oil drip. Is this normal for 6.0L Looks like on the rear side of oil pan. Not a lot of dripping just maybe a few of drips over night.

Thread moved. There are various reasons for oil leaking off the rear of the 6.0L, these guys will help you pin it down

Oil leaks can be troublesome w/ the 6.0L. The best way to find the specific source is to clean it up and take it in to the dealer so that dye can be added.

I hate drips on my driveway and my 06 F-250 now has developed a small leak after it is driven. Once the truck is parked the drip goes away, but after driving it and parking, there will be a few drips.

I have taken it to the dealer and they stated it is the CAC tubes and since I have the Banks IC and Intake, that they are not responsible for it. I have read that there is a crankcase vent that goes into the CAC tube.

Can I just remove the tubes and clean them out? Why does oil get in there? Is it somehow related to the Banks IC?

The CCV (Crankcase vent) puts several tablespoons of oil (typically) into the turbo inlet tube every 5000 miles or so. The only way to prevent this is to re-route the ccv. Some people route it to the back of the vehicle, or to the side and let it drip. Some people put a filter on the end to avoid sucking dirt into the vent tube. The method I chose was to install a frame rail mounted coalescing filter and run the ccv to it and then return the vent to the turbo inlet tube. Works well for me.

Also, yes you can remove the tubes and clean them. Sometimes the CAC tube can blow off from being oil soaked. It can then be hard to get it to stay on. The tube that resists this the best is the one with the orange liner IIRC.
