Well, I hated to do it, but I just have too many vehicles to take care of. So, I have sold Old Blue, my rust but trusty 77 F150. Fear not though, he's going to a good home. I sold him to a co-worker who is going to do a full frame-off restoration. Finally the old guy will get the attention I couldn't give him. He will be missed.
Yeah, its always tough when you come to realize that something has to go, and what is that something going to be?!
I've had to let a few "good ones" go too and it just ain't easy...
At least you sold to someone who plans on restoring it. Now, you'll get to see the final project and you'll want it back. Nice truck, and too bad you had to sell it.
Now, you'll get to see the final project and you'll want it back.
The wife already said "when he gets it rebuilt you're not buying it back!"
We'll see...
The money is going towards the 460 rebuild on my F250 4x4, so not all is lost. The thing that sucks is that until it is fixed, I don't have a running truck. Just an SUV and a car. I think I need to buy a trailer..... She'll love this logic.
I think I would have sold the dodge, the old ford was worth more. Sell a dodge, now thats funny, what was I thinking. At least you have one real truck left with a real engine.
And buying a trailer makes perfect logic, then you can tow the dodge home with the ford and save on tow bills.
Does anyone else hear "Taps" playing in the backround. Sorry you had to let it go. I know the feeling. Had to sell my 1st truck to. Too many problems and no $$$ to fix them. Well come to think of it, the problems weren't that bad. I just wasn't makin any $$$ back then.
I feel your pain !! I sold my 78 F-150 4x4 two months ago and man am I regetting it. My son will be bring home a 79 Bronco and 08 Mustang GT/CS in November before he gets deployed. Those plus mine will fill up garage and drive way. They are nice to play with ,they're not mine. I had my 78 for four years and relearned a lot from my youth. I still have a nice dual tank bed, dash pads, sport wheel, doors, fenders, and NOS grille shell scattered around the house. The grille shell is in my closet(wife loves it). I am on the lookout for another 78-79 just to tinker with.
yup, know the feeling - sold my beautiful '74 F350 SCS last week for a lot less than I paid for it. But, we needed the cash, so what are ya gonna do, right?
I came VERY close to selling my 77' 4x4 that runs great because i am moving and didn't think i could practically move it across country. Now that ive decided to keep it I am really glad. whew!
Lucky No. 7, really?, come get it? It runs ok & all? I'd come get it if I didn't live here in the UK for sure, if all U want to do is some1 "Come get it" ! ......I have a friend in Arkansas I'll tell him, ok?
