I'd stay away from the 500cfm 2bbl to begin with. It's got way too big venturi's to give nice crisp throttle response. Being a stock motor, I'd stay with the 350 version, plus you're up in thin air also.
Oh Yeah I agree with Freightrain on that, stay with a 350cfm, I use to have a 600cfm on my F250 and it was tuned for sea level when I lived in SoCal...But I use to take it up to Big Bear snow skiing almost every weekend during the winter...and it would run FAT big time... (FAT) being a very rich Fuel to air ratio....
And if you tuned the 500cfm or the 350cfm for being up a mile and a half in the sky..when you came down to sea level or close you would run into a very lean problem and possibly over heat the motor and cause damage...Its alway better to run a little rich than ever go lean....
The one to talk to on that and really get it dailed in would be Brian (Scouder) he's at about 7000 ft....and knows how to get the best out of high altitude..Maybe he'll read this and chime in...
