I have a 75 ford w/360 & motorcraft 2100 two barrel carb.
#D4TEha, manual choke. The problem is when I start driving or shift from one gear to another and start giving it some gas the engine "stutters" (dont know what else to call it) before coming up to speed. it acts like a cold engine with no choke. this happens during warm weather and when the truck is at normal temp. when this happens i can pull the manual choke closed momentalry, it solves the stutter and runs fine. I havent found any vacum leaks, I believe I have it timed right, (I am going to have it checked by friend this weekend) Any ideas ? thanks in advance for you help.
You might check for wear of the throttle shaft. Wear can cause an air leak that will upset the off-idle mixture. Try setting the accelerator pump to deliver more fuel and check the power valve as there are several different ones. I had a little trouble with this on my truck and getting the right power valve really helped. The one that comes in the rebuild kit is not necessarily the correct one.
