Ok, so i've done my research on this issue and it seems alot of people that own this model or close has had this issue, DIRTY THROTTLE BODY. So i was like "ok" and i went ahead and cleaned it and it was filthy if i may add, but to get down to it, it didn't help a single bit. So i was wondering if anyone else knows what could be done to solve this as it is very irritating it dieing at every light and the RPMs jumping to insane amounts while idleling. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME
Sounds like your Idle Air Control Valve needs cleaned/replaced. Go to fordfuelinjection.com to see what it looks like and how to test and clean it. May be called a different name on that site. It will also tell you how to pull codes which can be very useful (no code reader required). Good luck.
no i probably need to get one my dad was telling me to stop being cheap and fork out the 25 bucks for one but i checked my IAC once and sprayed some carb and throttle body cleaner in there so its about spotless, but to no avail still nothing...whats this TPS?
When checking the IAC valve you have to check the electrical circuit and you have to take it apart to clean it. Did you pull any codes? The TPS is the throttle position sensor. You can check it with a volt meter. It will tell you how at either autozone.com or fordfuelinjection, com
I think the next time I take a pair of heads with worn out but clean valve guides to the machine shop, I'll tell the machinist to just detail 'em!!! Hahahahahahaha
Don't do anything until you check your codes. If you get codes, post and we can point you in the right direction. If you don't check for codes, you will end up spending $$$$ on parts you may not need. Check the link and do it yourself............
