E350 RV - Help Valves stuck!

1998 E350 RV - Help Valves stuck!

Ok i did a bad thing. I didnt use my RV for sometime. and it started to run ruff last year. couple of months ago i looked at it. looks like only 4-5 of the cinders are firing in this v10. i checked the others and i got no compression. i think the valves are stuck. Why do i think this....

Well when it happened. i thought it could be water in the gas or something else. So i replace filter and drained the gas tank. Still didnt help. i cleaned the injectors. they looked ok. only got 37K miles on this thing. Now with i did was put the gas in my ride on lawn mower one day. and guess what. same black smoke. and a week later 2 valves rusted open!

Now i think i can just removed the valve covers and free the valves and this would be ok.

My issues is i cant get the valve covers off because it so deep in the Van there is no room!.

is there a way to take the covers off? can the Eng be dropped couple of inch's so this can be done.

I doubt it is a valve issue since it is an Overhead cam engine...I don't know what configuration it is like shim under bucket or what have you . I would be scanning it for codes and you will probably get a ignition coil code. Since you havbe direct ignition ( one coil per cylinder) I would replace the ones that are defective and thats it .....Ford modular V10 - 6.8L/415 - FORD - SummitRacing.com

Thanks for the feedback!

A valve cant stick open on OHC? I was told it can.

I checked the compression and the ones with stuck valves don't have any. No way its the rings. Even oiled up everything just in case.

From what i remember the fuel injectors,Sparks are checked out ok.

Well since the only OHC engines I have are my kawasaki bikes and they are DOHC and are of the shim under bucket design which means they are directly actuated by the cam via the bucket..As far as the modular V10 I have no idea....I assumed spring pressure would keep valves closed ....just trying to help

I understand thanks!

Just wish i could take off the valve covers and just check. There is just no way to do it only less than a inch above them. Crazy!
