Well the paint finally got polished - the guy worked on it for over 6 hours and was amazed at what shape it was in for 5 years old and 195000 kms. He was very very meticulous in making sure the black paint didnt have the dreaded swirls and we checked under his shop lights and then mine at about 2 am when I got home. Today it was out in the sun for final inspection and it passed. We had done all the chrome, painted the exposed areas of frame and suspension in the wheel wells and under the rear bumper, shone up the spray in boxliner, and cleaned up the tires, rims, and mudflaps prior to the polishing. A few stone chips were touched up but they still show a bit. My hood is the worst part and I have to get some type of low bug deflector / hood protector back on there - I took the one off that was on there in an attempt to keep the airflow from ripping up any more visors. Still waiting for the chrome insert to come in that was ordered to go on the lower part of the leading edge of the dually fender where it was repainted last week. Tomorrow the interior gets detailed in Humboldt.
I have always done this type of stuff to my daily driver vehicle to keep it turning heads and make it desireable at selling time.
Once the chrome pieces are in I will get some pictures up - but remember boys, its just an old farm truck!
No kidding Im looking forward to pics too. Gotta include some interior pics too, sounds like your doing it up right!
Ya know though, Ive always kinda detailed my own interior. I have a steam cleaner for the seats and carpets, and I have q tips for cleaning out those ac vents that can get oh so dusty, and with some armour all, and window cleaner I manage to do a pretty good job.
Well I will tell ya, before I had a woman, I didnt have a steam cleaner either. I borrowed my moms from time to time but thats it. Now I got a pretty decent one, that I only use in my vehicles.
