Wash, Clay, Polish, Wax...What order?

Hey guys,
My truck is about 4 years old and I have kept up with the paint pretty well but I have some stubborn water spots on the hood. They arent very noticeable unless you really look for them but I want them gone! I have tried clay bar and a good wash and wax. I guess polish is the only thing that can take them off. Is there anything else to get the water spots off? Also, too get a really nice shine, what order would you clay, polish, wax, etc your truck? What is a good polish to use and any tips on how to polish? I also recently bought a porter cable buffer, is that of any use? Thanks!!

Yes, your order is right. You wash, then clay, then polish, then wax. Definitely use your PC. With the right pads and 3M Swirl Mark Remover, you should be able to take the waterspots out and making your paint look like brand spankin' new. Using your hand is alright too, but you won't be able to make it look really good and your arm will be really really dead. Trust me, I've done this before then I spent $110 for the PC. That thing made my life sooooo much easier!!

Get the pads at this site http://www.properautocare.com/hipadkitwive.html . They know everything about car detailing and as a customer from them, those pads are incredible!! Price is a little steep, but it's totally worth it!!

I agree on the order of product use. In my experience it's always better to clay bar the spots off. Less chance of removing paint. You might have to go over it more than once with the bar.

Hope you don't have White, I used a PC on my finish a 1972 Camaro. The reflection burned my eyeballs out for a week. Like going snow blind.
