Just ordered at set of 285/75/18 Toyo T/A's to replace my OEM conti's 275/75/18. What can I expect in my new shoes? Ride, handling, noise, traction, etc. One more question I was told that they do not come with white raised letters in that size. Is there a way or product to use so as to whiten them up withat oil based paint?
I have the 285/75/16 Toyo AT's and they have the raised white letters, but I had them turned inside. It pisses me off when I scuff the white letters on a curb, so I just take them out of the equation. So far I love the tires. They felt a little squirrely for the first 500 miles or so, and then straightened out. Nice ride and no road noise to speak of.
The first 10K miles you will hate them.....I did....but they grew on me.
They have a very different compound than I am used to. They felt greasy. The truck never seemed to settle correctly. There seems to be too much sidewall flex.
After the strange beginning.....I have grown to like them.
