Upfitter wiring

I am hooking up aux. backup lights to my upfitter switch number 3. The wires under the hood (4 by the master cylinder) are all dead even with the ign. on and the switches on. Can amyone help?

Upfitter Wires..

Those by the master cyclinder are the pass through wires, not the upfitter ones. Those are also terminated above the parking brake on the inside. On my 2008, the upfitter ones are in the same area just above the pass through wires. You need to remove the panel under the steering wheel to access... The upfitters are two larger wires (switch 1/2) and two smaller wires (switch 3/4).

How do I use the pass through wire with the upfitter wires?

You connect the ends that are in the cab to your upfitter wires. It's just pieces of wire that end in the cab and end in the engine compartment. Do a search and it will explain the colors etc.

Found the pass through wire that mached the ones under the hood. Wired one of them to the number 3 upfitter switch and all's well. Thanks.
