Dang Scott, and sorry for the jack because I thought you were stock block, but what was wrong with the original engine?

You don't remember that Mike? I guess you wouldn't....I think it was right about the time you joined.

The original block developed a tiny little crack at the rearmost block plug on the right side. Motor ran great.....cylinder walls still had a visible crosshatch at 144,600 miles.....but it just seeped coolant all the time and nothing I tried would seal it up. So I replaced it. That's also when I put the injectors in it.

Got 59,000 on the new motor. 203,600 total on the truck and life is grand.

My only concern with buying from deisel inovations is if I have a waranty problem down the track. But I will give them a call and investigate it some more.

Hey Scott when you got your long moter did it include the turbo and manifolds

Big Poppa here in Australia you can not buy them new any more due to emmision laws so 2nd hand has gone through the roof they were $77 000 new I got mine for $60 000 with 149000 K's and that was cheap {not so much now} I have friends that have paid $85 000 + A harley Davidson model over here will go for $110 000

It is a 2002 F250 superduty XLT Burgndy red {with special block ventilation}

Thats insane, what is the median income in Australia? I'm assuming you are talking US dollars here, right?

I remember when Flywest posted on here, a charming bloke from Downunda and he said that everything there was 40-60% more expensive, however the mean gross income was a little bit higher, maybe 20% higher than comparably American.

Continuing the jack, but last one. Seems eerily close to what Kris' friend had happen but in a different place. Hard freeze and bad coolant? Hmmm. I doubt your coolant wasn't maintained but something caused that crack.

Sorry I don't have much to offer our friend from down under. I am curious about what caused his failure though.

Edit: Yeah Kris, I kinda miss him, Flywest that is. Very entertaining bloke.

If you're friend is going to ship other items to you anyway, you may also consider picking up a scan tool that can read all the sensors in the truck. It might come in handy down the road. AutoEnginuity PC Scan Tool (USB)

Scan tool sounds like a good idea.
Jason those prices are is Aussie dollars so the engine price would be around $14800 US
Spoke to the dealership this arvo they got the head off no visable damage to the head and the bore looks good. They didnt have a good look as they only got it apart at knock off time. I am going down in the morning to have a look myself, but at this point it appeares to have just snaped the rod. Will let you know more tomorrow after I have had a look.

I need to convert my truck to a right side driver and sell it in AU. Think of the beast I could build with that kind of cash

Funny thing was... I was helping a guy with bad injector cups, and when I pressurized his coolant system I found a crack in his block. Then mine did the same thing not two weeks later....then a third one happened within days of that. Third one was also a member here, but I can't remember who.

I don't guess I read the story on Kris' friend.

To get them converted here is from what i've heard is around $25000 there is only a couple of approved places that can do it!!! In my case it is my business truck and being so you can not get insurance on an imported vehicle so had no choice but buy an Aussie complianced one. I had thought of importing though if it was private I would have done so. Well I'm off to the dealership so will keep you guy's posted.

Hmmm....with prices like that I see an opportunity to make some money.
We could buy a bunch of these babies here for much cheaper seeing as how they fuel prices have people sellling them for cheap....ship them to Austarlia and sell them....make big bucks...have a legitimate reason to go to Australia too...hmmmmm....wheels are spinning.....
