looks like my dads truck but with that crazy steering wheel on the wrong side thing. I forgot about that. That kind of puts a small cramp in my money making plan....

Hey Everyone thanks for your thoughts and help. Just got back from the dealership everything looked good {exepet the hole in the block and snaped rod} looks like the engine has hydrolicked when they replaced the injector. This would be why it smoked an was low on compresion and eventually led to the rod out the block. So it is with much joy that I tell you all that the dealership has said the will fix it free of charge. They are fitting a brand new long crate motor and I am going to kick in an extra 2500 to make it a complete crate motor new turbo and everything. Thanks again for everyone that has helped me with advice on this and other threads. I will now be right to compete in the upcoming Drag race season on my NOS Suzuki I am currently the Australian record holder for my class with a 7.74 sec @ 176MPH Thanks again
Geoff

Well that sounds like the best idea yet. It's hard to beat free. Thanks for following up with us on how this turned out. Good luck in the upcoming race season.

Geoff, good for you. It's also refreshing to hear a dealer fess up to causing a problem and making it right. Maybe it's different Downunder, but unusual here.

Glad to hear that your dealership took care of you Geoff it might be a little higher downunder but atleast they take care of you . It is VERY odd to see one of these trucks set up like that. I do have an off topic question for you, is it true they have 05+ body style trucks down there with the 7.3 in them?

I know the 05 has but not sure about the 06 I think 06 is when they stopped bringing them in, not sure if it was at the begining of the year or the end. I personally have never seen a 6L one in Australia I beleive that only 9000 were sold Australia wide. I think that includes 5.4's and the one's with a six cylinder cummins engine. When I get my Truck back in a few weeks I will get my hand brake to take a photo of it and me and I will post it up steering wheel on the right side of the car and alli

I am not sure how the engine could have hydrolocked from a bad injector. Maybe, if the tip of the nozzle was burnt off and the injector hung open it could fill the cylinder, but NOT when it was running. IF that were the case you'd have a big *** hole in the piston.

I always wondered how everything under the hood is setup with the wheel on the right. I guess everything would be reversed? Could you take a few shots under the hood for us?

I think he meant that in previous maintenance, that they had replaced that cylinders injector and had hydrolocked it. That caused the stressed rod. . . and it finally gave out.
