Hi,guys.Today I was just chenged an oil on my( 2006,F350,6.0,30K) truck, and find that an oil was a dark green color.Did you know, guys, what can it be?Thanks for replay.
I used to use a green semi-synthetc 15w-40 engine oil. I cannot remeber the brand though, I bought it from a fleet supplier. I wouldn't be concerned, just change the oil and add what's your preference of 15w-40 oil.......
I use only Motorcraft SAE 15w-40 for my 6.0.And,when i change it before (I mean until 30.000) it never be dark green color, but always black. But today, when I drain old oil,the color was dark green, not black like always. And I don't know,is it OK or something wrong with my engine.Any idea?
A couple weeks before I leave my truck on a dealership, yes, the problem was an oil leaks. They resealed rear engine cover.Second problem was chek engine light. They replaced EGR valve. After 4 days they fixed all this problems. Now,no oil leaks.Truck run perfect. But,until I changed oil,and find some Dark Green Oil,I was jast worry and immediately go to dealership. They looked an oil (in the bottle) and say that I need to com to chek it.So,tomorrow,I'be there.
OK,guys.I just cheked a statement,so BRICKIE was right, they use parts:gasket, seal asy - CRA and OIL DYE.Maybe that (oil dye) make an oil like Dark Green Color.I hope so.
Sounds like UV dye. We don't have green coolant so its not that, but you'd probably have a bearing failure before now if it was. I've been drinking too...
