Monroe Matics are fine - I have owned them before, can afford any kind I want, and have no complaints. If a higher perfomance is required for off road then that would be different.
Im sure Monroe is good for standard use...However many of us here are just true performance guys, and sometimes we forget that some folks on here arent. Most of us know these Expy's in and out, and know what works for most applications. Myself, I come from a Motorsports background, so everything I get my hot little hands on I try to make better. It is hard however, to sometimes get a good feel for what a users needs or wants are, and like I said, most of us are true performance guys and we want to share it with the world!!!
THANKS GUYS. . . but here in America we still live in a land of free choice. I didn't mind you guys spending over $250 for the Bilstein shocks, but I couldnt justify spending it on my Expedition and for $106 I get a satisfying, comfortable ride that was recommended by a trustworthy alignment specialist here in town. I'm glad you enjoy your Bilstein shocks on your Expedition's.
While I appreciated the reviews and feedback on the Bilsteins, I didnt appreciate your snide comments on my choice of the Monroe shocks. It's my expedition, and its my money and it will always be my choice.
For what I need, the Monromatics will fit perfect in my gameplan and I'll be happy for a long time.
I love this forum for the information, reviews and help. I hope it will remain that way.
You're obviously free to choose any shock you like, but when ask for input you shouldn't be upset when you get it.
