Can anyone help me with a problem that I am having with my old "Betsey" truck? Its a 1986 f150 302 5.0 engine.
My old motor died and I had my mechanic replace it with another 302 5.0 engine and it starts up fine and runs good until I slow down and let up on the gas and it starts shaking and it cuts off on me sometimes.
It runs very good at 50 or 60 mph.
Yesterday I was driving it and the gas gauge hand went from half of tank on the gauge to almost empty and then a few minutes later slowly went back to half a tank on the gauge.
All of the other gauges are in the normal position. My mechanic replaced the alternator and the computer and the tsp control as well as new plugs and wired and did a complete tuneup.
I just got the truck back from him and have only driven it about 50 or 60 miles and I would like to have some idea of what can be wrong with it.
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks,
Daisymae
