where does this plug go?

Hi i have a 84 F250 with a 351W 4x4. Theres a large gray plug behind the glove box area that has many wiresrunning off it thats not plugged into anything. Could this be the cause of my blower motor not working at any speed? Where does it plug in to? I couldnt find any outlet for it.

This is the same area where the processor (computer) is located. While I'm not 100% sure, it may be the plug that Ford's diagnostic system plugs into.

You might have a bad blower motor resistor, it's screwed to the backside of the heater plenum chamber, near the blower motor.

is this large grey connector to the left of the glovebox? If so and it's 2 rows of pins by about 20 pins long it's probably the computer connector for the feedback carburetor.

If your truck has a non-feedback carb on it it doesn't need to be hooked up, but if the feedback is still on there your truck is probably running terribly.

If you have the correct buzzer & wiring, it also doubles as the headlight-on buzzer - a nice
feature.

It depends on year model.

1980-1986 there are plugs right behind the heater controls. It is the convienience group plug in.

The harnesses for the Optional Clock, Underdash lights, Glove box lamp, ash tray lamp, Headlamp on warning buzzer (1980-1983) etc... plugs into that same plug (or plugs 1980-1982).

On the 1984-1986 these just power the clock, underdash, ash tray, and glove box lamps.

1984-1986 the plug above the glove box liner is for the seatbelt, Key in ignition and Headlamp on warning buzzer.

You may also find a plug in for the dual tank selector switch, even though the truck may never have been equipped.

These trucks are wired for almost every power option ford offered in these trucks. You just need the optional item and it's apropriate harness to plug into those plugs to add them in.

I figured out my blower problem, it was some loose wires. But thanks for the offer! Yeah, my truck is the bare bones xl, so it doesnt even have a clock or a glove box at all!

The XL is actually one step up from base model. Still pretty basic though.

1980-1981 Trim Lines

CUSTOM
RANGER (later XL)
RANGER XLT (Later XLT)
RANGER LARIAT (Later XLT Lariat)

You could still order a CUSTOM model with every option avaliable. (but most people didn't cause it would cost more than the Ranger Lariat....

1982-1986 Trim lines

No name baseline.
XL (Was Ranger)
XLT (Was Ranger XLT)
XLT Lariat. (Was Ranger Lariat)

They did away with the custom model in 1982 (brought it back in 1987) The Base line model was very option restrictive. You had to upgrade to XL or XLT, or XLT lariat to get certain options.
