Question: Why don't you just tap into the existing brake light wire near the back like they do with trailer lights? Am I missing something here? There's no need to run a new wire all the way to the pedal.
There is in this application.
If he ties into the combination Brake/turn signal wire at the rear of the truck, the license plate frame will flash when he turns on the turn signals.
If he ties into the left side, it will flash when the left hand turn signal is turned on. Same thing if he hooks in and turns on the right side.
An I know he would get a fixing ticket for that for sure.
The only way to keep the license plate frame from flashing with the turn signals, is to run a wire up to the brake light switch, before the brake light wire goes through the turn signal switch, as stated in my previous post.
Now trailer lights are different, you want each side to flash with the turn signals respectfully, left for left, right for right.
