The problem with platinum is that the tip is usually much smaller than a copper plug and then cannot dissapat heat as well. Most plat plugs share this problem and are generally not good in high compression high heat situations such as Boost (Supercharger, Turbo) or higher plug temp Ignition systems (Waste spark, multi-spark). They seem to work fine in my 94 5.0 F150 but My supercharged car andmy wifes Olds (with waste spark ign) kill these in just a few months. I haven't had to take the plugs out of my Marquis yet (55K on her) but I'm sure they're platinum but I'll be buying Autolite or NGK for her.
