I think this is as close as foglights got on factory trucks.
1997 was the year 4xs got actual lights in the bumper fascia.

I just can't remember factory lights prior to 1997, I could be wrong.
It seems like it was never an option on 80-96.

Yes they were but I've never seen them. I do have a picture somewhere of the factory bezel and switch that goes in the dash.

It's in one of my posts somewhere on here.

1980/89 fog lamps

Ford dealer installed fog lamps were first offered in 1932, they were made by the Trippe Driving Lamp Co.

Later in the 1930's thru the 1960's, the foglamps were made by Unity.

In 1973, Ford first offered rectangular shaped halogen fog lamps made by Marchal, and a version of the 1973/79 lamps were also offered 1980/84.

E0TZ-15200-C .. Fog Lamp Kit-Marchal / Fits: 1980/84 F100/350's & Bronco's. This kit came with the switch, relay, wiring loom, all misc attaching parts, instruction sheet and two plain white plastic fog lamp removable covers. The fog lamps themselves were very similar to what the 1979/86 Mustangs used.

A different "universal" kit was offered 1984/89, it also fit Bronco's and Rangers, Econolines, Aerostars and Bronco II's. This kit was made by Blazer.

E9TZ-15200-K .. Fog Lamp Kit-Blazer (replaced E4TZ-15200-A) SEE EDIT BELOW

But wait...there's more...

E9TZ-15200-A .. " Universal" Fog Lamp Kit-Bosch / Fits: 1988/91 F150/350, Bronco, Bronco II, Ranger (not the GT model), Aerostar, Explorer. This kit also came with all the attaching parts.

E9TZ-15200-B .. Universal Road Lamp Kit-Bosch / Fits: Same as above.

There's still more, at least 6 different types of fog & road lamp kits used on the roll bars, push bars, and brush guards.

All these kits are obsolete.

EDIT: However...if anyone is interested in E9TZ-15200-K, I did a search and found 6 of these kits at 4 Ford & L/M dealers.

Bob Allen Ford in Overland Park KS has two / Kinsel L/M is Beaumont TX has two / Hillsboro Ford/Mercury in Hillsboro OH has one / Angola Ford/Mercury in Angola IN has one.

No dealer or Ford obsolete parts seller has any of the E0TZ-15200-C kits.

I have seen a few of these fog lamps in person. However none were in working condition, or good enough to pull them off of wrecks to be reused.

The 1981 F-series Brochure has a picture of one truck equipped.

Here is a 1981 Pickup equipped.

And here is a Bronco Equipped.

They came standard with the Freewheeling package "B" option, and optional on all other models.

Wow, lotsa info there guys! I've seen pics of the famed fog light switch, but never seen the lamps... Anyway there is an '81 or so F150 in my neighborhood with fog lamps and sure enough they are the same in the pic of the blue stepside that Explorer provided; cool! I'll see if I can snap a pic... As an observation, they do look like they would get wrecked quickly in any real off-roading.

Seeing the photos helped spark my memory of the "factory installed lights".

Now I remember seeing them in real life.

They were not as intergraded as foglights are today!

The metal guards around the lights are nice, but that was still a terrible place to mount them. I mounted lights under the bumper one time on a truck and smashed them both the first time I went off road. Now I only mount them above the bumper.

I have a set that look very similar to the OEM style in the pics that I mounted on the pushbar of my 83 F-150.
I drilled holes in the lower tube and tapped them out. Then I mounted the lights right on the tube itself.

I found some Marchal fog lamps, but they are mounted upside down. Can I remove the bezels and flip the lens upside down (so the black cat isn't upside down) and remount these under the bumper? Where can I find these metal guards?
