actuator 98' ford explorer drivers side-intermittent issues
I recently replaced the drivers side actuator on a 98 Ford Explorer Sport.
The problem previously was with the door not unlocking without some manually force (pull the door **** up while trying to unlock it.). The problem was intermittant.
Well, the actuator was replaced and it still is a issue some of the time.
I've read posts on the linkage needing grease but there are very little moving parts.
This sounds like another issue with the door handle springs. There is a small spring as part of the door handle assembly which holds pressure on the handle itself. There are a number of threads in this forum discussing it, but here's a good one with a relatively straight forward DIY fix. I haven't actually torn into mine to try it yet, but it seems relatively straight forward.
