which way to go?

tying to get my ducks in a row here and decide how far to take my truck. i'd like to have stage1 inj. intercooler off 6.0 and 4" exh. but should i take my heads in to a machine shop while they are off? i think deffinetly put in aftermarket head bolts. what about the turbo? is there any mods to do to it without replacing it?

You dont need to have headstuds until over 38psi... your stock turbo will fail somewhere around 33-35 psi.
for those mods, you dont need to change your turbo, or get headstuds. you definately want gauges though, so you dont hurt your truck.
With those mods, i'd look into a few transmission parts as well. Racerxautomotive.com if you can do it yourself.

I think the tranny will hold up as long as the clutch is beefed up.

IMHO.. anything over 40 lbs is over kill. Unless you really want it.

I agree with all of the above. You do not have to pull the heads to replace injectors. If you do not have any problems (valve train) then don't waste the money pulling the heads, spend it on injectors. DIY injectors have gotten some good reveiws from people on here that have done them (Rubber Duck and others), you can build up your own injectors (less money) or have them build you a set. Here are some instructions for injector install: http://www.beansdieselperformance.co...torinstall.pdf

On the turbo you could upgrade to a faster spooling 1.0 exhaust housing, if you have a little more money to spend you can get a rebuilt turbo with the 1.0 housing and upgrade bearing kit from Ron's Turbo Shop (ebay) for about $600 (with a $110 core refund when you send him your old turbo) total price about $500.

Some must haves are; new down pipe, open air intake, gauges, and a good clutch for the manual trans.

forgot to add that i do have the 6637 intake. also if i buy just the down pipe and gut the cat and muffler would that be good enough? or get the 4"? i'll deffinetly leave the heads alone and just pull the injectors. I assume i'll need a 17deg HPOP to run these?

The stock exhaust with a new down pipe (minus the cat) flows pretty well and should do you fine unless you plan on making big HP. Your HPOP should run the Stage 1's with no problems (except at WOT you might get a CEL) but the 17 deg. is better. With the 95's you have an issue with drain down, unless you mod it, which is not that big of a deal,(location of the check valve) when you replace the 15 deg. with a 17 deg. HPOP. There are lot guys out there running Stage 1's and 2's on a 15 deg. HPOP.

Emmision what???? I gutted the cat because it causes way too much restriction in the exhaust system (air & fuel can't come in if it can't go out).

EBPV brake mod has been done by many on here. RÖENTGEEP is one that I know of that has done it and likes it. I'm sure that he has the info on how to it.

Ya gutted kitty will improve flow greatly.
EBPV brake- c00nhunterjoe had made one, and didnt like how high the pressure got. others did it and didnt see as high. overall, it sounds like a decent way to get braking.
you'll definately want the single mass flywheel, but i have an auto, so i dont know where you would look.

guys in the next county here have to leave the casing of the cat in place because of annual inspections so they put a pipe in thats what i thought you meant. i figure on just cutting mine out and putt a pipe in its place.
i'll wait on the brake until i get a guage so i know what press. are doing.

If you don't have inspections, replacing it with a pipe is the way to go. DPPI has the delete/test pipes for $47.99 here: Diesel Truck Performance Parts & Accessories Click on Ford Power Stroke, then 7.3L, then year, then exhaust products, then 94-97 down pipe / test pipe, then delete/test pipes.
