So basically if you don't feel binding you're ok. I'll check it out later, thanks!

Well, didja buy it, someone did!

Hey Sheriff,

I'm just reading this thread, but I too have that Ex on my eBay watch list as I'm shopping for a replacement now that I have the official word that insurance is totalling mine. Trying to decide to get another 2005 6.0L (no real issues with mine, but I don't want a 2003 or 4 to be safe) or go v-10. If I go V-10 I may go older to save $$, but this one caught my eye and I do like the front ends on the 2005 models.

I just checked it, auction ended early as it's no longer available for sale, so someone either called and made a deal or may have had a local buyer to them. Either way, I agree that for the BIN price or anything less it was a good deal for the miles. Why are you shopping for another? Replacement or just to have 2? Just curious...Good luck, Geoff.

I was not aware it had sold until I just opened this thread again. No, I did not buy it. My loss as far as I am concerned. For the price, it was going to be a 2nd Excursion in my family. I had a gut feeling it would not last long at the advertised price, I should have jumped sooner. Obviously the biggest concern I had was getting it back to Virginia. Lowest bid on shipping was $1,000. Airline ticket to Texas and gas back would have been just as much. What I was really planning on doing was offering them $13,000 after the auction was over and spend the $1,000 to have it shipped to me. Another deal like this will come along after gas hits $5.00 a gallon this winter. And it will as soon as the refineries gear up to manufacture home heating fuels.

Know its too late but, the issues with the ex for sale are the same things that I;ve done to mine. - the pcm and tranny pump. But I burned up an extra torque converter.then had the tranny bullet proofed( if that is possible) the rest is normal Maint.it was a good price. Now if you look at the thread for the mystery subject the Prius that dealer has a 2000 x limited with 7.3 at $10,500, if anyone is interested.

Hello,

I think this is the right place to post this. I have been thinking about selling my Supercab F150 4X4 and buying an Excursion. Well, today I found a deal on one that I don't think I can pass up. It's a 2000 4X4 limited; V-10, leather, rear air and flip down dvd player and it has 213,000 miles. It's also a repo so it is filthy, but everything works and it drives great with no slop in the steering. The motor sounds tight. Ironicly, the engine compartment is cleaner than the interior. It needs tires and the right side towing mirror-there are two stumps where it used to be. $2700. I was planning on spending 8-10 grand on one, but this one will let me spend the extra $ fixing it up the way I want it.
Would someone here be able to run the OASIS report for me? I would really appreciate it.

VIN# 1FMNU43S2YEA02096

It hardly seems I can go wrong at that price, but I would like to get opinions from you guys. Also, anything else I should look for when I go get it in the morning? This will be my first Excursion, but I think I am going to like it.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks Cardiac69, that was what I was thinking.

Is the 2000 limited supposed to have keyiess entry like my F-150? It has the number keypad under the door handle but there is no key fob.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks to all that replied to my questions. The Ex sold today before I could get to the dealer. I will start my search again, but I don't think I will have to rush since the fuel prices are going to change anytime soon.

Yes. Go to eBaY and pick up a couple of key fobs.

And then you will have to have a Ford dealership program them for you.

Before you go to the stealership, try this: Program Key Fob without another one. - F150online Forums. Read the last post, and he explains how to program your key fob, even when you don't have any to start with.

Va Sherriff,

I live in Austin and bought my X at Texas Direct Auto.

The auction will end at any time someone puts $500 to hold the truck.

If for some reason they do not buy it, it will come right back up. Just a tip, they will always take -$100 of the " buy it now price "

I really enjoyed doing business with them.

The way they work is this. If you see a truck you a really serious about buying, you call them up and give them a CC # for the deposit.

As long as you show up and look at the truck, they will refund your money if you decide not to buy it.

This may be tricky if you live out of state.
