It appears that many folks are in a panic to dump large SUV's in favor of smaller more fuel-efficient cars. In many cases, it just doesn't make economic sense to dump a paid-for vehicle and jump back into car payments just because the new vehicle gets better fuel mileage plus you'll be absorbing a 24% new vehicle depreciation loss as well. Because of the attitude that one needs to dump a large SUV just because of the poorer fuel economy means that there will be some killer deals out there on Excursions for a little while.

That is totally true! If something happens to my F350 or my Suburban () I'll be getting an Excursion for sure. Just weren't any around when I got the Suburban...
Just killen me! What I paid for my 05 X with 35K miles last October and seeing the prices now. I'm happy with mine but sure like the prices we are seeing now. Hopefully gas will drop a bit after the election and we will all see a little recovery in the prices of our X. I had to buy mine when I did. Had a 92 suburban with 150K miles, just getting too old. Love the X, way better truck. Gas is gas but the value drop is just brutal. If I had the cash I would dump my F250 and pick up a 05 X for me to drive (wife has the X most days).
I sure would like to see an Oasis report and whatever if anybody has the time to do them. I thought about this Excursion all night ong. I might fly out and drive it back.

For comparison-I just purchased my '04 EB 4x4, quad captains, DVD entertainment, 6.0, 127k for $13000 from a Charlotte ford dealer. Picked it up on wednesday night and drove it to Florida the next morning...LOVE IT!
It was an upgrade for me from my '99 Expedition w/204k on it (still runs like a top though!)
