Had some time today and i figured i woud do this mod because i was sick of the oily mess this was doing on my intake and cooler boots and not to mention what it was doing to the turbo.. Turned the doghouse box around and used the 90 degree that was already on there and ran some extra 3 quarter inch heater hose over the brake master cylinder and down under the truck. I will monitor the smell of the oily mist while idling and if i have to reroute to the back of the truck like so many of you guys and gals done. Again, wouldn't have known about this mod without the great people of FTE.
You will probably notice the vapor/smell from it. Mine ends right behind the rear doors, and the smell doesn't bother me so bad as the vapor when I'm loading the kids up. I hope to rig up some kind of filter on it soon. Next free mod for you should be the wastegate delete!
on mine i don't have the hose goin over the master cylinder i just have it runnin down over the tranny and t-case and the hose pokes out after the t-case. i thought the upward tilt might cause oil to collect and possibly cause a restriction

I was thinking the same thing, but was looking on guzzles site yesterday and he has his on a incline. I could always straightin it out. Does anybody have theirs on an incline like mine or do you have it straight across?
I got mine on an incline the same as you do, no problems! The idea of the incline is to not let the oil collect in the hose! It gives the oil drops a chance to run back in to the motor, instead of dripping out the end of the hose on the ground! Does stink sometimes, at idle or at a light, don't smell it while driving. Sometimes you can see a cloud of it coming up the side of your truck. I don't smell it with the windows up or the AC on. Hope this helps..
Mike- mine is routed over the master cylinder just like yours, for the reasons Ronnie said. I would leave it that way.
For the wastegate delete, unplug the red hose and stuff it onto the end of one of your clamps between the spyder and CAC tubes. Then go to where the wastegate rod connects to the turbo and carefully pop the clip off- I was able to get mine off without it taking flight and being lost forever. Two 10mm nuts hold the wastegate on, remove those (without dropping them in the valley ) and shorten the actuator rod as short as you can. Reinstall the wastegate, then say a few select words getting the actuator rod back onto the pin, reinstall the clip and you're good.
The reason for shortening the actuator rod as much as you can is it keeps more tension on the WG assembly, helping to hold it closed. Sounds complicated, but is really easy.

Thanks for the explanation, i'll run it and see how it works out, anything is better than cleaning them tubes all the time.

Thanks Chris, i'll run it and see how everything works out, just sick and tired of the mess it was making. As for the wastegate, been wanting to do that also but was worried about that little clip a goin flyin. I'll attempt that because i think its releasing to early. Thanks again.

Just like stated above, sick of the mess under the hood. I didn't buy anything, everything i needed was laying around in the garage. Thanks
Mike, I was able to get a feel for how the clip was oriented using a small pick and my fingers, then I used the pick to gently push the clip off while I held my hand behind it. I was careful enough that the clip popped loose without taking flight. A small mirror and extra hands would help, but I didn't have those luxuries
Well as far as a mirror, i got one of those little dentist mouth mirrors for looking at teeth, LOL. If i get some time today i'll take a look at it. I unpluged the wastegate last week and was going to work and had to pass a slowpoker and my ses light came on so i plug it back on.
Hey Mike, Good Job on the CCV mod. Mine runs up over the master cylinder just like yours. Sounds like Chase has got you dialed in on the wastegate mod.
Good Luck

You bet Huck, might have to get my sons into this one, small hands, lol. On vacation and doing day trips, banging out some free and easy projects. Like i said, everything was in the garage and the wife asked me and the boys to clean it up a little and we did, LOL.
