Hi.This morning I tried to set the parking brake and it made a loud BANG and the pedal went all the way down. I was able to lift the pedal with the Parking brake release pulled. I am assuming its a snapped parking brake cable. Is it an easy typical "cable from the pedal to the brake shoe" replacement? Any issues I should be aware of before I attempt the replacement tommorrow? Also, is the cable available at any parts store?? Any comments, suggestions and assistance is greatly appreciated.
yeah, the ford parts store. mine broke 2 months ago. exact same thing. what section broke? the front, intermediate, or one of the rears? if its the front, it takes about 20 minutes. you will have to pry apart the mechanism that holds the cable to it. i needed the front and the intermediate.
