just wondering what kinda frame swaps you guys do on your 48-55 trucks,im not shure what your wheel bases are, but my 51 chevy 3600 is 125.25,most people with chevs usually go with the s10, is that what you guys use, alsothe reason i ask is because ive saw that the ranger has 125 wheel base and with me not knowing to much about rangers can any of you think of a reason it wouldnt work im doing custom mounts im just wondering if the ranger has complicated suspension,i figured if the swap could be done with a ford from the same year it could be done with the chevy.

Hey dude, welcome here!! BUT you didnt say what your working on? This is a VERY contreversial subject here and has caused many hard feelings in the past. I am assuming you are working on an F100 between 53-56, but you didnt say?? If you arent working on a REAL truck and are working on an off brand truck(chevy) Sorry, but I couldnt resist. Anyway, someone the other day gave a really cool link to frame swaps and its very cool. Check it out! E-Z Chassis Swaps
Welcome aboard anyway.......... of course this is a Ford site so some guys are a little prejudiced....... the poor guy just came here seeking some guidance......... I would think that an S10 would be the way to go for your application....... Chevy motor and tranny will bolt to the S10 frame with less fabrication as that is the way it was built. If you check out the link to the EZ chassis swap they have the kits you need. I think there is an S10 frame with close to the correct wheel base........ maybe try The Jalopy Journal home less brand loyalty there
uhmmm chevy ?????? you got the right forum guy ????? we iz fords here . welcome anyway and if at nothing else pretend it's a ford or someone will be throwing rocks soon ..................
