Ok so i just started working for a towing company and there wreckers ar 97 PSD F350's. As i was driving one of them it felt kinda luggish, so when i got to the shop i pulled out the multi-meter and checked the ohms at the TPS, i couldnt remember if it was supposed to ohms that were checked or volts. It starts out at about .7 ohms and as the pedal goes down it gets to about .3 ohms and then jumps up to .5 at WOT. And there is a flat spot that goes from like .4 ohms to about .8 omhs then back to .4. Is the TPS shot?
Thanks
Yes, it is shot. It should sweep in a good arc from high volts to low. You really need a good analog sweep V-O-M to see it though. It's hard to see the step with a digital.
Ok, thanks Tim. Hopefully my boss will dish out the cash to go and get a new one, cuz i think that it will really wake this truck up. (it is really doggish, i'm also trying to talk him into an exhaust/intake and atleast some gauges to moniter everything)
