Well I installed the new filter and used oil on the gasket but no luck. It is actually leaking more. Lid it as tight as it can go. I kept the old lid and gasket. Are the old style filters and gaskets still around? And can I reuse the old beveled gasket and if so which side is up?

I had the same problem I dug the old beveled gasket out of the trash and reused it (not the best thing to do) it worked no leaks so far. Flat gasket was streched or to big and I had used diesel fuel on it.
