When the engine cold and running the fan turns with little force,as the engine heats up the sensor in the fan clutch warms up and engage the fan more visciously by way of a fluid heating up putting pressure on the grabbing of the fan to clutch mecahanism, then that sucks more air through the radiator and cools the coolant
