Your really don't know how much you depend on the internet until it's not there. My Hughesnet system went down Sat night, or so I thought it was my system. Evidently Hughesnet had a major malfunction and it shut down several satelites. I really got tired of calling for updates just to hear "we are working on restoring service to all of our customers, please be patient". Uh, I don't know about you guys, but I am an internet junky, to be without service while at home is like being tortured
But I am back now, boy do I have some catching up to do.
Mine was really slow Sat. night.....but it got me here. I thought the error messages ever other time I clicked was the site. Hate to say it, but I'm glad it wasn't just me
Scott, it started out as a major slowdown on several satelites and then IA6 crashed. My Mother has Hughes and hers was very slow for a few days. Mine is back to full signal now and seems to be working as it should. I would hate to know I had to go back to dial-up after 2 years of enjoying Hughesnet
Oh yeah.....that would definitely suck. There are times when I'm not crazy about Hughesnets' performance, but it's better than the only other alternative available out here. What bugs me the most is the "fair access policy threshold" if you download more than 200MB in a day they lock you out for 24 hours.
So now I DL all the big stuff between 2-5 a.m. when there are no restrictions.
