Another CPS Question

Hello,

I had what I think was a CPS failure today (I got the recall letter last fall, but never followed up), truck died without warning, cranked over with 0 RPM's and would start and drive 100m and quit again. I had it towed back and now its starts and idles. Would I be alright to drive it to the Ford dealer (~5kms away) ie - is this an intermittent problem that might have 'fixed itself' for a few more kms? Or should I have it towed?

Classic CPS failure. It would be cheaper for you to go to the dealer and buy a new CPS and install it yourself, then to hire a wrecker to tow it. They are like 27.00 new from dealer.

10mm wrench and 10 minutes start to finish. Do what Rick said.

If you could limp it up to the dealer, its under warranty, let them install it like i did. But like the guys said, piece of cake to throw in yourself.

I put it in myself, the reason I was asking about the dealer was for the recall and free part. It was only $45, so no big deal.

Thanks for the help.

Was that the problem? Jason and I want to know if you got it fixed.
