Changed CPS Stiill DEAD

Yesterday the truck just died doing about 40 mph and would not start again, got an autozone CPS (dealer was already closed) and after a tow back home and alot of bs I put in the new CPS and still wont start. Anyone have any other ideas what else it could be? THANKS P.S. the "wait to start" light does not come on and the tach doesnt move either.

No WTS light usually means fuse #30 Fuel bowl heater. You can change the fuse, unplug the fuel bowl heater and see if it starts then.

The truck started right up! Boy do I feel like a fool ,I had an appt. at Ford to change the PCS due to a recall , but I wont bother now. Next time Ill try not to jump to conclusions. Im just wondering why the fuse blew in the first place. Thank you for your help!

you fuel bowl has an heating element inside, if it shorts out , it will blowthe fuse, so you element is shot. i dont know if you have to replace the whole fuel bowl or just and heating element,
i think the whole fuel bowls are cheap on ebay if you going to look for one
BTW dont just replace the fuse cause it might quit in the middle of your driving, and you might have bigger problem than, unplug you fuel bowl.

Do yourself a favor and get that AutoZoo CPS out of there and replace it with the old one and let the dealer change it for you. The AZ CPSs are known to fail and not work correctly. Did you unplug the fuel heater, if not it will blow again?

And look how fast, too. Just over an hour from original post to truck running. Bet you waited for the tow truck longer then that...

I sat on the side of the road for 6 hours between trying to get the part and then to replace cps and then the tow. How hard is it to change the fuel bowl heater element?

Don't know where you live or how cold it is, but you can probably get by just unpluging it for now. I don't think it is too much trouble, but some one will chime in and let you know.

on back of fuel bowl(towards intake spider) there is a wiring connector, unlug this, and wrap in elec tape for the time being.
