Me too! Want it to be cleaner, oily mess it is. Debating.
I never cleaned my engine the way Rick does. When it started leaking oil (turned out to just be loose CAC boots) I spent a lot of time trying to clean it up fearing an EBPV issue. Waiting 230,000 miles to start cleaning your engine is a BIG mistake. Once I got it half way clean I did the CCV so I wouldn't have to go through that again.
You shouldn't have any pressure problems if you keep the hose short. Mine froze this winter, so I shortened it. It terminates at the firewall.
I did mine last summer. I routed the hose over to the passenger side, down along side( not touching obviously) the down pipe and along that frame rail. Kind of follows the exhaust. No freezing issues at all. Worth the extra effort for colder places like here in MN. Exits next to the spare tire.
Hell man, Rick's engine is cleaner than my underwear is about half the time...
Tell you what Rick, you put of the CCV mod til I either make a L/C run or you make your next Positive Feed run and i'll show you mine. CCV not drawers.
BTW..I didn't do my CCV til after 200K. But when I saw all the oily crap in my intake hose..........

Thats just it, I don't have lots of oil in my intake hose or the IC pipes. I took the IC tubes off the other day to take the foil off and I didn't have any oil in them. I guess I need to check and see if my CCV is plug.
