Got an 85 reg cab pickup that I'm looking to upgrade. I already have a Jensen deck (40x4watts) plus two Kenwood dual-mag 5 1/4 speakers in the doors. I want to get some bass, because I can't hear the stereo over the flowmaster. I'm thinking of getting two 10" subs, an amp (100-200watt), and a box that will fit behind the seat. I've heard that it's tough to get good bass in a regular cab pickup due to the space restriction, but I'm looking to get the best I can for the least amount of money. I'm not trying to blow my ears out, just make it a little more noticeable, aka, possibly hear it outside the truck at full volume, not lowest volume. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I have a 69 f-250 with a good system with seperates, kenwood deck, and 3 jl 8w3's
i can hear it outside of my truck at good volume with the windows up. there are a couple things that are a part of sound. first you need a sub(s) that work very well in a small box, secondly you need some that you can put alot of power too. and third you need a amp that can give them that power. the reason is because you don't have very much air space in the cab to work with for volume. if you want to make it louder for you you should soundeaden your truck so it sounds good from outside. mine sounds like crap from outside because the truck rattles because there is no deadener. go ask the guys at your local autosound shop and see what they have to say. and if they say you should build a box they are really easy and there are alot of sites on the net that can help.
