Help!

I just installed a Jensen CD in place of the fadctory cassette player in my `93 Econoline Conversion van last night.I also bought the right adpater plugs for the wiring harness.Anyways, the problem I`m having is that the rear speakers do not work hardly at all now, they worked perfect with the orig radio. The fronts work perfect and sound great, but there is almost no power going to the rears when the speakers are centered and absolutely no power going to them when i switch to rears only.I exchanged the radio today for another, and still have the same problem. My friends and I are all stumped as to what it could be,I also exchanged the adapter plug for another eith no change.Any ideas anyone??

Help!

Is there a rear speaker control mounted somewhere in the back of the van ? If so, your rear speakers may not play right until you jump the wires over the rear speaker controller. Also, some of the rear speaker controllers are powered up to provide additional volume, so you may need to feed the power wire that goes to it. Finally,I have seen some factory speakers,in the rear, that had a BTL circuit (2 pos. & 1 common neg.).If so in your case, you will have to find the tie off point for the rear common negative, and seperate the negatives from each other so you can run the independently to the new, aftermarket radio.

Help!

test the rear speaker inputs up inthe front of the vehicle. get a battery(any size) fix a wire onto the + and another wire onto the -
touch these two wires to the various contactors inthe factory harnes. you should hear a popping noise come from the speaker when you get it right - then make sure that these terminals are hooked up correctly to your radio outputs.
