Help needed on new deck installation

Could anyone please give me steps on how to punt in a new deck in my 2001 F150. The new deck is a 1.5 DIN and requires that I take off the dash of the truck, but I don't know how. I could really use any and all help!

Thanks, Jon

Help needed on new deck installation

most of the newer dash boards arnt screwed on, they have little plastic tabs or something that snap into a hole on the mounting surface. thats the way mine is set up. but you have to be careful when removing these cause they break easy. best thing to do before you start pulling is to look around your dash and see if there are any screws, if so remove them and remember where they go, then run your fingers along the edge of your dash and try to look in between the dash and whatever its mounted to and try to find those little tab things, and then slowly pull each one out and try not to break any. and if your still not sure what to do then talk to a ford service rep.

Help needed on new deck installation

LAST EDITED ON 28-Jan-01 AT 10:41 AM (EST)[p]On the new Ford F-150 series, turn the two A/C vents toward the center, stick your fingers into the gap (toward the center too) of the vents, and pull. The dash will snap out, but be advised that there are wires going to the switches below the vents (like Airbag Override, Electric 4x4, etc.), so do not pull far from the dash (4-5 inches will be plenty. Then lay the dash over onto itself. Take your time and eveything will be easy. Hope this helps, Doc
