Navigation stereo in 2001 F150?
I was wondering if anyone has done this or has any advice on how to do this. I have a 2001 F150 Harley Davidson edition with a factory tape deck/6 disc CD changer. I want to upgrade so I can use my iPod but I also like factory decks. I don't want to buy an aftermarket deck. What I want to do is install a deck from a 2006 or newer (a deck with a gps navigation screen) and have it all functional. Has anyone done this? I know I'm looking at a lot of work, but I want it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I think you may encounter some problems adding a 2006 or newer radio. I can interchange a lot of components from van and trucks up to year 2004. ford seems to have started another generation of products. Your wiring harness for 2001 may not work for 2006 or newer without some type of harness adapter.
I also would suggest looking at a New hi quality aftermarket unit because they can be very good and inexpensive. If you're gonna do it go for all the bells and whistles the first time around.
