Just wanted to say to all of you out there who contributed to previous Tachometer threads a big Thank You. I used them all (just search for "Tachometer") and figured out that I needed to tap into the Brown with the yellow striped wire for the tach send (I used the wire going into the connector on the passenger fender), and for the rest (dash lights and ignition wire) I was able to tap into the door chime circuit, right there under the dash.
I will update this thread with a pic of the tach later - sorry no digital camera! [INSERT PICTURE HERE!]
I mounted mine using the rounded edge on the round moulding against where the the heating/AC cluster is (using of course a shorter screw than the one provided, plus a lockwasher)
I thought it looked a little less "boy racer" than if I mounted it on the door pillar.
Thanks Again. It will help me immensely when I'm towing my tent trailer.
i did mine a little differently. the ground is shared on mine, for the light and gauge, grounds just above the doghouse. the lighting on mine is tapped to the harness at the vehicle light switch, comes one with the parking lights. for the power i tapped it into the extra 12v on my fusebox where my cb is plugged in. and then obviously the coil wire cant be substituted lol.
here is a pic of my mount.
the mount is crappy but i didnt have to drill anything either lol. the screw was already there for the dash.
