Hello,
I have a '95 F-250 2wd Supercab. The front end (I think) begins shaking violently when the truck hits the slightest bump above thirty to forty mph. I had a front end alignment done; at which time I replaced the LF inner tie rod end and the LF wheel bearings. These problems had been revealed to me by the alignment shop. The alignment did not cure the shaking it seems to have made it worse. Also, when I picked up the truck from the shop; they kindly pointed out the rusted and broken rear leaf spring hangers. These were replaced as well and still the truck shakes even worse. I can sometimes feel the shaking coming on upon acceleration and I can lift off the throttle and most of the time it will settle down until the truck hits a bump. Also, if the road is clear and I catch it in time I can put a load on the steering linkage by cranking hard on the wheel (usually to the left) and the shaking will stop, sometimes. Help, Please!!!!
check the bushings on the radius arms and the twin traction beams them selves. if there is any play they will be able to move also check the center bolts that mount the axle to the cross member that is under the oil pan. i have seen these fall out of break off and cause this problem.
P.S. considering the rear springs shackles were rusted out it's also possible the front spring/shock mounts could be rusted out as well, or the frame is broken, you should take a closer look at these parts.
Thank you all for your responses. I inspected the items you guys mentioned and everything looks to be in good shape. I'm on my way to get some new shocks and will report back when they're installed.
from experience with 93 150... bad front rotors on mine led to weird tire wear on fronts, which led to shaking sometimes violent over similar situations and braking. new rotors and front tires have worked for about 7 mo's now. good luck
