I can buy a Hypertech 41012 Power Programmer III for my 2001 F350 7.3 for a pretty low price (it's not VIN-locked). I want to buy it primarily for reading the codes not so much for the tuning aspect because I am saving my pennies for the DP Tuner from Jody (the wife even agrees to this!!!).
I am unable to find (after extensive Google and Yahoo) searches any information whether this particular unit is able to read codes. It is an older model and Hypertech does not have any information on its website for its older discontinued models.
I know a few folks on this site have had this model so I am interested in anyone's experience with this tuner. Thanks a lot
I don't have any direct experience with the PPIII, but I know the Superchips Microtuner and Diablo Predator both will pull the diesel codes. I would have to assume the PPIII uses the same logic.
