Need a decode please

I figured before I ask too many questions I should find out exactly what I have. I believe it has been converted to 4 wheel drive. It has a Dana 70 rear and either a Dana 44 or 60 in the front. It has a 460 with a C6 and divorced np205 transfer case. The body is in real good shape with only a little rust on the bottom of the rear cab on both corners.

F35 = F350

D = 352 2V

L = Michigan Truck Assembly Plant

709536 = 1965

152" Wheelbase

T = Candy Apple Red

F350 = F350

81 = Conventional (Crew) Cab

N = New Process 435 4 Speed

22 = Spicer (Dana) 70 / 4.88-1 / non Limited Slip / 7400 lb. Rear Axle Capacity

7000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating

172 HP @ 4000 RPM

740804: 74 = Seattle WA Ford District Sales Zone Office / 0804 = Special Order Number.

All Crew Cabs were special ordered, but some/all of the features of this rig may be factory also.

This truck does not have a interior trim code, just the 81 body code. This could be a Marmon-Herrington or NAPCO conversion to 4WD.

I am pretty sure the four wheel conversion is not a commercial job. The way the brackets are welded and the fact that the front drive shaft hit the trans cross member point to the backyard mechanic.

F350's from 1953 thru 1966 had 6 lug 17" wheels on a 7.25" bolt circle.

This was the only size wheel offered.

I found that there were two rear wheels offered, the type that matched the front, and another for dual rear wheels, so the dually setup could be factory...as long as the wheels on this Crew Cab match the size/bolt pattern.

What is the size of the front wheels?

If they don't match the rears, this is most likely not a Marmon-Herrington or NAPCO 4WD conversion

It has 8 lug wheels front and rear. The front axle has disc brakes and spacers to run the dished dually wheel on the front.
