Ok, It's an 86 F-250, 5.8L. Been smelling gas from the engine compartment, noticed something dripping while idling, backed truck up, checked, it's gas. I don't even know where to start looking, bad carb, bad fuel line, etc. Any ideas would be helpful. I'm hoping this weekend to start checking it out, see what i can figure out.
The leak is somewhere between the pump and carb, before the pump causes air lock and the engine wont run. I'd replace all the lines with synthetic ones anyway as they say the ethanol in gas now will corrode the rubber.

The Colorado Front Range - where I've been living since 1978 - has been burning that
stuff in the Winter months (and some stations have been selling it year-round) for
something around 10 years now. I haven't noticed any corrosion or abnormal deterioration
of my rubber fuel system components, I suspect such scenarios are spread by the fear
mongers who, for whatever reason, aren't willing to accept it.
