What is involved in an egr delete. What are the negative consequences of taking the egr cooler out if any other than a warranty void. I have 120k on my '03 superduty with no warranty.
Well, you live in the republik of Kalifornia, so one risk might be never being able to drive you truck again if the EPA ****'s start checking trucks in our weight class. Other than that, it's all positive. There are ways to get-r-dun without a delete, too... You just have to block-off the exhaust flow and the H2O flow... "Looks" stock, but acts like a delete. Not the very best way, but it is the best fake.
Like I said, I recommend first coast diesel performance. I just referred a guy to them and he was able to get his problem solved. The thread is over on socaps. com but you have to be a member to read anything.

what is involved? A lot of cussing and beer and cut knuckles. There are no cons to this modification, except if the epa starts inspecting trucks, like stated. Do it!
I'm sorry. I probably jumped the gun. Maybe its not on this site, but it's on half a dozen other ones. I was brand new to Ford diesels as of January, but that's no excuse.
Go to gogodiesel and look up Abrannan there. He sells about the best complete EGR delete kit for the money of anybody. I think he was even mentioned earlier in this thread.
Once again, I'm sorry. Seriously, my bad. Caught me on a crabby a$$ day. TGIF, no doubt.
Also no doubt... if you have no warranty, there's no reason why you shouldn't get rid of the EGR. Mine is plugged on both ends (see sig), I just haven't gotten rid of the cooler yet. However, mine isn't leaking and I believe the likelihood of failure is small since I don't have exhaust gasses going through it anymore. Even so, one of these days I will get that turd out of there.
PS: Liberator diesel also sells a kit, just for a price comparison. Make sure you compare the parts that are included with each kit too. Not all kits are created equal.

You just defined yourself as a good man. You have my respect, and assistance at any time. Way to own responsibility! I really admire that these days
