keyless entry 2008 e150 xlt

The three button fob for the keyless entry on my new 2008 e150 xlt is a transmitter so that when I press the button to unlock the doors a signal is sent from the fob to a receiver located somewhere inside the vehicle. Would sombody please tell me where that receiver is located and what it looks like, if possible? Thank you. zanman

Keyless entry

I can't answer your question, but I have an 07 and find the keyless entry to be marginal at best. Are you having a problem with it?

Hi dzwiss, thanks for replying, no I am not having a problem, I just took delivery of a 2008 Ford E150, XLT Club Wagon with almost all the bells and whistles. This new wagon is taking the place of my 1999 E150 Chateau Club Wagon which I am presently cleaning up as I plan to sell it privately.
When I bought the 99 wagon I had the dealer install a Ford security system on it. I want to use that same security system unit in my 2008 wagon.
The wiring harness is identical in both vehicles and I have no problem tackling the job as I am a retired electrician.
I need to know; Where is the receiver for the remote key entry system located in the van? Since the fob is a transmitter, there has to be a reciever in the vehicle to recieve the signal from the fob in order to unlock the doors and I can't seem to find it in the van.
I wonder if the dealer removed the original receiver before installing the upgraded security system on the 99 van. Since I want to remove the unit in the 99 and put it in the 2008 van I want to know that the 99 still has the remote feature working.
I hope all of this makes sense.
I appreciate any help you can give me , thanks in advance. ZANMAN
