I noticed on my (new to me) '02 Navigator that the emergency brake does not hold the vehicle and the e-brake pedal goes nearly to the floor. How do I adjust the e-brake cables to take up the slack?
And to think I just put the back end back down on the ground after putting fresh RTV under the rear diff cover and installing fresh 75W-140 gear lube in there. (That 9.75" rear is BIG and it took all of 3 quarts!) I didn't see any cable adjusters and never thought to look for the star adjusters. Thanks again!
If the 02 is similar to the 98 Expy, you have a front and rear cable. So, if the adjuster is at it's limit, you may have to replace the shoes. I don't think the cables themselves can be adjusted. So if the shoes look ok and the adjuster isn't maxed out, then it may be a stretched cable
