I just got my Scangauge II last week, and still have not mounted it yet. But plan on mounting it under the climate controls just upbove the storage bin. 2004 Expy.

I though about mounting in on top of dash but was worried about it being in direct sunlight all day.

It is a fun toy.

The scangauge II appears to be over priced considering the limited features. Why not pay a little more and buy real scan tool software and use your laptop as your display. The scangauge II has very limited graphics and no keyboard. The display can only show a couple of lines of data at best. Why not use a good scantool that can display 24 Pids at the same in time color and do it in table from, in graphs, as dashboard gauges or even as an oscilloscope waveform(my favorite). You also have bi-directional controls for troubleshooting when DTCs goes set. Oh, and did I mention it also does data logging so you can have it connected while your driving and record all the sensor data and play back the EXACT moment the DTC went set.

For me a laptop is too big to carry along, when all I want to do is monitor a few temps and or other parameters.

For what it is worth

I have been using a Scan Gauge I on my 97 Expedition for a few years and I love it. My truck has fuel tank indication issues that was never fixed when under warranty, so the fuel usage features are excellent. The MPG calculations have always been dead on. It is fun to experiment with different speeds and such and be able to watch MPG changes real time.

The scan guage is also very useful when you get check engine codes.

I just wish it would work on my 1994 E350 Winnebago 460EFI
