Might sound like a dumb idea, but you could always start the truck when its cold and feel which line starts to get warm first, probably not the answer your looking for but might be worth a shot

It shouldn't really matter whether another cooler is before or after the original, total head dissipation will be the same.

Not exactly. If it is before the radiator it will remove excess heat that the radiator one might not, but the radiator will warm it back up if need be. If it is after the radiator it will cool it off however much it can. If it is before or after the stock external cooler it shouldn't matter though.

I was referring to the stock external, wasn't thinking about the in-radiator one... Doe!

Both metal lines come front from the tranny and right by the rad. they have strip on connections the pressure side goes into the rad. and back out then into the air cooler and back out to the metal tranny line so I can just pull that hose off and run that out front to my new cooler(it should reach)then just run my return line back to the metal tranny line.I'm mounting the second cooler in front of the a/c condensor but up behind the grille instead of down behind the bumper between the rad and a/c condensor where the factory one is.

I installed this Flex-a-lite on my '01. It's hooked up after the internal radiator cooler. FYI, the return line is the line to the rear of the tranny. Both lines are on the passenger side.
