Any Ideas - Quick Help Needed

In addition to my "new to me" personal 2005 F250, I drive a college group around in a F450 mini bus with the same 6.0 engine.
Last week while driving Charlotte to Charleston, it sounded like a jet was reving the engine up and down over and over.
Also seemed to have no acceleration power in 1 & 2nd gear and would actually sputter when slowing down before coming to complete stop or making a turn.
Now at the dealership - they can't get it to do either.
Anyone have an idea where to start?

Quick question. When was the last full service done? Fuel filters, etc.

Probably a while back. I had the oil changed 2 weeks ago but that's all. I'm pretty sure its a 2005 only has about 25000 miles on it. Mostly weekend duty and sits most of the summer. I go out and drive it around every 2-3 weeks for a while to get it good and warmed up and get lubrication moved around.
Probably need to switch to synthetic oil, clean EGR, replace fuel filters, and run a batch of Hot Shots through it.

I'm a newbie in the diesel world but have been reading the forum stuff every night for about a week and a half. About the time I bought the F250.

Hopefully the F450 is just letting me know it needs some attention.

Most folks here change the fuel filters at every other oil change (10-15K). Plugged or somewhat pugged filter will do weird things. These engine are very sensitive to fuel quality, flow and pressure. Personally I use a "premium fuel" and have never had a fuel related problem. I also do my own fuel filter changes and take the filter apart to see how much stuff is in it to see if i need to change more or less often. I have fuel delivered here to the farm so I know the quality. OH yes keep to major brands as some off brands buy wherever they can to get fuel the cheapest. Use a fuel additive to keep the algae at bay if you don't fuel it very often. (month or so)

That could be the electronic fan you heard. It's very loud and will vary speed based on the engine temp. Was it a hot day?

Does the service department have a Certified 6.0 Technician working on it? That makes a huge difference.

If you are really into the Forum research, I have a couple of Excel spreadsheets that you may be interested in. Lots of research summed up, organized, and easily retrieved. Just PM me w/ your email address and they are yours to "curl up with" for days.

"Jet" noise is a problem with the fan.
Big problem is the turbo! Not sure yet if its a repair or a replace. Luckily, I have 3 months left on the warranty.
Many lessons learned in a short time.

On the regular pickup the engine has a 5yr / 100K warranty. Not sure with mini bus.

Warranty is on the engine/drive train and is not chassis/model specific.

BTW - PM option not showing up on my view but I'd like to get the spreadsheets...
