supercharger

hey I have a 2001 Ford F-150 5.4L 4x4 Off Road truck. I have a friend that has a lightning and i really like it, and even thought of buying one, but like my truck too much! I know that i have the same engine as a lightning and i think it would be cool to slap a supercharger in my truck! More power and speed would be nice!

What exactly is different from my truck to a Lightning??? I dont want anything more than a lightning(boost wise) which is like 8lbs.

I believe the transmission is heavier duty. Fuel pump and injectors are probably higher volume, as well as MAF and intake. Computer is definitely different, not sure about wiring harness.

Not just a "slap on supercharger" and we're done kind of job. Even with tuning.

the engine wiring harness is different also, i had looked into it a while back for my truck and would have to have ordered a new harness. look into an aftermarket package like paxton/pro charger/vortec. they all make very good reliable kist and run no higher than 9psi of boost so its still piston friendly. i believe they also come with a new tune for the computer also and they are directly bolt on. theres alot of work turning your motor into a lightning motor with factory parts.

i think the lightning has forgerd crank and pistons, not that you would need those to supercharge the engine... your engine should be safe up to 600hp...
